Meanwhile, Sidhu finds Nandini's (Anupama Parameswaran) diary on the road. Sidhu starts reading that diary and slowly Sidhu falls in love with Nandini (Anupama Parameswaran) while reading the diary. Sidhu discovers many interesting facts about Nandini through the diary and the story takes a major turn when he tries to meet her. What is this twist? Will Sidhu be able to meet Nandini? Did Sidhu express his feelings for Nandini? You have to watch the film to know this.
18 Pages Movie Review:
The biggest plus point of the film is the story of the film, in this modern times, it is difficult to showcase love without the combo scenes of the lead pair, but Sukumar's plot has good moments which keep the audience hooked.
In the past, some such films have come in which the main pair falls in love with each other without meeting. But their love story starts through any social media apk, 18 pages have shown love story through a diary without social media and mobile.
The makers manage to show the romantic aspect fairly.
The chemistry between Nikhil and Anupama can be felt though they do not meet till the end. Nikhil has once again chosen a different script and delivered a fine performance. He is very good in funny scenes and emotional scenes bring out the actor in him.
The writing of the film is well balanced with funny and romantic portions. The songs of the film take the story forward and the lyrics are well placed. The director has designed the first part in a smooth and simple manner with good comedy bits.
Anupama Parameswaran in the role of Nandini is convincing as a small town girl and her scenes are well written.
Saryu gets a nice full-length role and does it well.
The climax of FIPPAM is again sweet and simple which has worked well.
Also, some important social aspects like how social media and mobiles are affecting human bonding and interactions are depicted quite well. There is a short sequence where Nikhil says that one needs to give his time to his aged parents, which has an inner depth.
minus points:
The biggest weakness of the film is the second half of the film. While the first part is quite cute with good magical moments, the film loses its grip in the second part.
The action in the second half is very slow and the moments are few. Naturally a solid second half is expected but the way things unfold is not very impressive.
The characters of Ajay and Shatru do not have much importance and play the role of regular villains.
Anupama's character has a suspense factor attached to it which becomes very common after a point.
The flashbacks are quite routine and the pace is not maintained during this particular episode. The thrilling elements lack punch and hence the film gets boring at places.
Decision:
Overall, 18 PAGES is a nice love story Movie which gives a different feel to the viewers. If one can ignore the slightly slow second half and the regular flashback portions, then the film might be to your liking.
